– The study period for the doctoral degree program is no more than 9 academic years.

Master's Degree Programs Information

Master of Business Administration Program

Applicant Qualifications

1.

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a qualified higher education institution recognized by the universities accredited;

2.

Bachelor’s degree with grade point average not below 2.50 of 4.00 points;

3.

Knowledge of English sufficient for studying printed materials; evidence of proficiency my provided.

Remark:

1)

The applicants having 1 and 3 qualification, students whose bachelor’s degree GPA is below 2.50, may be
allowed to enter the program if they have working experience and professional expertise. If having work experience and having expertise in the job for not less than 2 years.

2)

The applicants having 1- 3 qualification must not have any disease that is an obstacle for learning and must have never had their student status dismissed by STOU due to misconduct. If the act in question was not done intentionally or
by negligence, the academic council may deem appropriate to permit study if 5 years have passed since the withdrawal of student status.

Master of Business Administration Program in
Business and Hospitality Management

Bachelor’s degree grade point average not less than 2.30 of 4.00 points or equivalent;

3.

At least one year of working experience since graduating with a Bachelor’s degree.

4.

Knowledge of English sufficient for studying printed materials; evidence of proficiency my provided; or

5.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University Academic Council as a suitable applicant for the graduate program.

Remark:

1)

The applicants having 1 and 3 qualification, students whose bachelor’s degree GPA is below 2.30, may be allowed to enter the program if they have working experience and professional expertise.

Doctor of Business Administration Program in
Business and Hospitality Management

Applicant Qualifications

Plan 

1.

A graduate degree in business administration or similar discipline from a University or other institution accredited and certified by the Office of the Higher Education Commission of Thailand or other related field business administration;

2.

Master’s degree in business administration or other related field with a grade point average not below 3.25 of 4.00 points;

3.

Proficiency in English demonstrated by passing the test specified by the university within 2 years prior to the date of application; and

4.

A dissertation research plan and proposal.

Remark:

Participants with qualifications different from those specified shall be considered at the discretion of the Program Management Committee.

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Public Administration

Doctor of Philosophy (Public Administration)

Degree abbreviation:

Ph.D. (Public Administration)

Applicant Qualifications

Plan 1.1

1.

They must be faculty members or lecturers at higher education level or researchers in higher education institute
with 5 years of teaching/research experience and graduated master of public administration from university or
other higher education institutes recognized by Office of the Higher Education Commission.

2.

They must have GPA in master degree not below 3.50 of 4.00 points.

          In case of unqualified, the Committee may consider the applicants’ outstanding and well recognized academic achievement in public administration and with GPA in master degree not below 3.25 from 4.00 system or its equivalent.

3.

They must have a large number of well recognized academic achievement in public administration, both text book and article/research published internationally.

4.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University.

5.

They must have a project for dissertation;

6.

They must have research knowledge at “very good” level.

Remark:

Those qualified from item 1-6 must not have illness that obstructs the studies and must not be expeller or
released from a university because of misconducts. If it was not intentional or negligence and punishment was already made, they will be allowed to re-enroll upon the Academic Senate consideration. However,
it will be 5 years after the suspension announcement of student status.

Plan 2.1

1.

They must be graduates in master of public administration, political science, business administration or other fields related to public administration from university or other higher education institutes recognized by Office of the Higher Education Commission.

2.

They must have GPA in master degree not below 3.25 from 4.00 system.

          In case of unqualified, the Committee may consider the applicants’ outstanding and well recognized academic achievement in public administration and with GPA in master degree not below 3.20 from 4.00 system or its equivalent.

3.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University.

4.

They must have a project for dissertation;

5.

They must pass the test of research knowledge at “good” level.

Remark:

Those qualified from item 1-5 must not have illness that obstructs the studies and must not be expeller or released from a university because of misconducts. If it was not intentional or negligence and punishment was already made, they will be allowed to

Plan 2.1

1.

They must have completed a master’s degree or its equivalent Educational Measurement or Evaluation or Statistics, Research and Evaluation in Education or possess other qualifications required by the University;

2.

They must have a GPA not below 3.25 from 4.00 grading system;

3.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University; and

4.

They must have work achievement and a research project suitable for the Educational Measurement and
Evaluation science.

Remark:

1)

Those who graduate master’s degree from other fields must be assessed on basic competency in educational measurement and evaluation as required by the university.

2)

Those who graduate from other fields the university may require them to study additional courses namely course 24732 Theories of Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Program Evaluation (no credit).

3)

Applicants who meet qualifications 1-4 above must not have any disease that would be an undue hindrance to their studies and must never have previously had their student status from university suspended due to bad behavior. If a student was once suspended for bad behavior but the offense was not intentional or was due to negligence or has reason to be pardoned, he or she may request to be reinstated upon the approval of
the Academic Senate once a full 5 years have passed from the date of suspension.

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Guidance and Psychological Counseling

Applicant Qualifications

Plan 2.1

1.

They must have completed a master’s degree or its equivalent Guidance, Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Consulting or possess other qualifications required by the University;

2.

They must have a GPA not below 3.25 from 4.00 grading system;

3.

They must have worked in the field relevant to Guidance, Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Consultingor or its equivalent;

4.

They must have English proficiency at the level required by the University;

5.

They must have work achievement and a research project suitable for the Guidance, Psychology, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Consulting science;

6.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University Academic Council as a suitable applicant for
the graduate program.

Remark:

1)

Those who graduate from other fields the university may require them to study additional courses namely course 24732 Theories of Educational Measurement and Evaluation, and Program Evaluation (no credit).

2)

5.

Approved by the Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University Academic Council as a suitable applicant for the graduate program.
